Snakes Alive!Every year the ACT Herpetological Association (ACTHA) and the Australian National Botanic Gardens (ANBG) put on a week long exhibition in January showcasing a variety of Australian reptiles and amphibians.
The ANBG publicises the event and provides an idyllic location amongst the world’s ‘best collection of Australian plants’, and ACTHA members provide the animals for the display and staff the exhibit. Members of the public receive an exceptional educational experience with the opportunity to learn about herpetofauna hands-on from dedicated ACTHA members who staff the event. |
Creature FeaturesAt ACTHA meetings there are regular 'Creature Features' - short talks from members about how to care for reptiles and amphibians in captivity. These are interactive talks - usually the animal being spoken about is brought along for everyone to see!
If you keep a reptile or amphibian and would like to talk about it, let us know! So to learn more about the behaviour and husbandry of amazing animals, be sure to come along to our meetings. Check the Meetings and Events Calendar above to see what's coming up. |
